AnnaLynne McCord has praised 90210 for tackling real-life issues.
The 22-year-old actress, who stars as Naomi Clarke in the teen drama, said that the second season stories mirror problems in the real world.
“Well, Naomi is out for blood with Annie,” she told DS of the season two plots. “She wants to get back at her for what she thinks Annie did to her last year with Liam. However, we all know it was actually her evil sister Jen doing the bad deeds.
“Naomi is out to get Annie and ruin her life - and Annie starts to go on a downward spiral, which is really interesting to watch. This happy little Kansas girl who smiles all the time goes downwards into such a dark world where she gets hung up with the wrong people and falls in the wrong crowd.”
She added: “But things like this really happen in true life, so it’s good to address issues like this.”
McCord also revealed that fans can expect “a lot of fun and laughter” as the season progresses, as well as “sombre moments”.
90210 continues Tuesdays at 8pm on The CW in the US and 9pm on E4 in the UK.
AnnaLynne McCord is very proud of her on-again, off-again boyfriend Kellan Lutz. She told OK! recently that she is a huge fan of Kellan’s look in the new Calvin Klein underwear ads, dubbing the ad as “sick.” What else did she have to say about the Twilight super-hunk?
“I adore him, and his body is retarded, and the whole ad — it looked sick,” AnnaLynne told OK!.
She said she first saw the steamy ad when she was trying on her CK dress for the designer’s Fall 2010 fashion-show afterparty.
“The actor from True Blood is in it,” AnnaLynne said. “I love True Blood, and it’s kind of naughty. I’m excited for the naughtiness. It’s kind of like being in Europe and seeing an ad. A little racy.”
How is Kellan feeling about it?
“I am wondering how the grandparents in Iowa are going to take it,” she quipped.

AnnaLynne McCord didn’t mean to offend with her wacky cut-out Golden Globes gown.
“I had an amazing dress, which was showing a little too much, and I kept pushing it to myself — and apparently, by the end of the night, it looked like it was holding me in a very compromising position!” the 90210 star, 22, told UsMagazine.com at the Artists for Peace and Justice Haiti benefit in Santa Monica Thursday night.
“I’m sorry everyone!” she added of her deep V-neck white Lloyd Klein frock. “Especially middle America! That was not the idea!”
McCord isn’t the only actress who has bemoaned a much-maligned red carpet getup.
“I’d much rather go un-photographed than be on the worst dressed list,” Tina Fey told Us a few days after the Zac Posen couture gown she wore to the Globes was slammed by critics.
Continued the 30 Rock star, 39, “I don’t have a lot of time to fuss about [how I look] one way or another.”

The 22-year-old 90210 starlet has finally jumped on the Twitter bandwagon with the handle @iamannalynnemcc. “I finally did it!” she said in her first tweet. “I actually AM AnnaLynne McCord to all you identity thieves!”
AnnaLynne used her first couple of tweets to bring attention to a few charities that are especially meaningful to her. She wrote, “Haiti needs our help, desperately! I was there 3 weeks ago volunteering with Artists for Peace and Justice! Please donate to them!”
She continued, “As you guys may know I work with St. Bernard Project building homes inn NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana)! I will be in NOLA rebuilding houses in March! But in order to continue the work we need your votes… Facebook/Chase Bank is donating $1M to the organization with the most supporters! Please help me this would mean so much!”
